Joey Turns 6!

So our Joseph turned 6 this weekend!  Woohooo!  I can't believe it has been 6 years since we came home from the birth center with this little guy in our arms.  He is such a sweetheart!
But he can sure be a silly kiddo too!  He loves to make people laugh and he LOVES to tell stories! (Just like his dad!)  Joey is very creative and imaginative.  He can create things with legos and have a full story to go along with it, including background details!  We love him with all our heart and are so grateful that Heavenly Father has sent him to our family!

To start out Joey's birthday weekend, we brought donuts to his kindergarten class and they celebrated there with him!
His teacher Mrs. Williams is super nice and made him feel very special!

Then the next day was his actual birthday!  We had a movie/pizza family night and he ripped open some very fun presents!  Thanks everyone!

The operation...opening the boxes! :)

Dave and I made him some arrows with a little holders for them to go with his bow and arrow set.  We were so grateful it turned out! :)

Then that Sunday, the day after Joey's big day, we had a family party for him at our house. Dad made a delicious dinner of mashed potatoes and hamburger gravy---Mmmm!  And I can't believe we made it as far as after dinner for Joey to open his presents, but somehow he did.  I sadly didn't get many pictures.  But everyone spoiled him and he loved his presents!  Thank you again!

Then it was Cupcake time!  He requested Chocolate cupcakes with min frosting.  And then he chose the colors of the frosting and the style I used to decorate them.   He had a wonderful birthday filled with lots of love!
We love our Joey!

Joey Celebrates 4 with the Whole Arizona Clan!

Our Joey boy got TWO birthday parties this year since we live close to family now!  No one complains about that now will we? Joey decorated the cake himself! What a big boy!

Fun Day!

Fun People!

Fun Presents!

Yummy cake!
Joey got to frost and decorate his own cake! And pick out the color of the frosting.  He did a great job!

What??!!??  I can hear it now!  :) Love my Joey!

Vader Hat!! Woot woot!

It is such a treat that Grandma Betty gets to come to family events!  She just lights up when everyone is around.

Joey wanted Pizza for his birthday dinner.  I won't complain...Daddy makes the pizza! :) And can you say, Yu-uhm!

It was super fun having everyone over for the party!  Love my fam! (We always miss Pheob & Mom and Sadie!)

Halloween Night

Father & Son...Jedi through and through.  Their dream costumes! :) Abby decided she didn't want to do all the makeup involved with being her star wars character again.  haha!  Can't blame the girl, halloween makeup is the worst!

I remember playing this game at my Grandma and Grandpa Larsen's Halloween party every year when I was a kid.  Loved it!  But our donuts were a bit bigger! :)
There you go Joe! :)

Isn't she SOO cute?

Cup Cake walk game.

Love it!  Trunk or treat from the trunk! :)

Dave put on star wars music while the kids trunk or treated. And only got in a couple light sabor fights. :)

Ethan and Abby...good friends loading up on the candy.

My only shot of all 4 of them! :) On the go...gotta get more and more candy!!!

Our cute little R2D2.
"GIVE ME CANDY!!!!!!"

Perfect little star wars costume for our round Ellie! :)

Out Back Stories

So, I have somewhat neglected my gardens.  :(   They've had a hard time this year for some reason...it's just been so hot, and I got my shade cloth up kinda late.  The huge garden spiders don't help either!

Anyway, our cucumber plant took over all the flowers in the side planter that I planted forever ago.  I let it wind itself around the plants (mostly just the greens) because I'm about to plant fall flowers there anyway, and I can't believe they survived the summer anyway! Well, it was a big bushy mess and so it was fun to lift up some vines and VOILA-- we found 4 big cucumbers like this one hiding underneath!  And a bunch of small ones too.  It made me feel good that not EVERYTHING was fruitless this year.

I'm wrong though.  We got TONS of artichokes, and a few handfuls of delicious strawberries, some herbs, and lots of tomatoes...so I guess it wasn't all fruitless.  I'm learning.

Abbies such a goof!  :)  Last time I tried to grow cucumbers the plant got all white and not much came out of it.  (it did make my melons taste like cucumbers though-weird)

I thought this was so cute...Joey's use of the stroller lately.  He LOVES soccer!  I think it's so funny... him caring for his soccer ball like it's a baby!

Omer Bunnies

Abby made these awesome rabbit ears in preschool.  Our theme this month is animals and we're having a lot of fun with it!

This is what happened when Joey tried them on!

It was super cute!

I guess he'll just have to grow into his ears!  :)

Field Trip to the Children's Museum

For Abbies first preschool field trip we went to the Children's Museum.  The kids had a GREAT time!  So much to play with and do, and it's nice and A/C'd, so us parents were happy!  :)

Abby can barely stand a tiny hangnail on herself...but she loves seeing other people's "owees"...so maybe an M.D. would work for her...??   :)

Dr. Omer...it actually does have a ring to it doesn't it?

This was the train room tunnel.  If you look all the way through you'll see Ada & Joey too.  :)

This was in the Animal Vet section.  Funny how my little puppies fit in those cages so well!  ;)

Voila- Chef Abigail!

I think Joey would have sat in the submarine driver seat all day!

We barely missed their foam craft time... bumma.  But the kids had fun coloring in the art section.

After lunch, we attacked the last little section with the firetruck and police motorcycle in it!  Joey was all over it!
And this was a rarity...no other kids climbing all over each other and the seat!!

Goin for a ride....

Until Abby lost her driver....

Yes, Joey's true future profession....a STUNT MAN!  He constantly wanted up on this thing, but insisted on climbing up and sitting at the very top!  LOL

So, second picture now of Abby sitting behind a boy on a motorcycle...I hope this isn't foreshadowing.  It probably is.  Uh-oh!
