Joseph David Omer, Come on Down!!

My (Dave's) first official post of the year bids welcome to the newest member of the Omer family, Joseph David!
Mere hours in this mortal realm.

(Carseat was not included in birth)
Now before you all get excited an expect too much detail, I'll give this much detail: having a baby is exhausting and knocks your schedule out of whack. And even more so for the wife!

And the wife, by the way, is doing well. Amber was a trooper, and li'l Giuseppe did his part as well. Vital stats: 7 lb, 4 oz, 20 1/2 inches, 2:26 PM, 72 deg F (Tucson weather. Huh!)

But like I was saying, things are busy (and late), so you'll have to come back later for more pics, videos, slideshow-montages, etc. For the moment, enjoy the couple of pictures posted here from the day of birth. As for me, I'm gonna go catch some Zzzs with my main man J.D.!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year from the Omers!

It's been a fun, exciting, challenging and wonderful year for our family. But you read lots of these, so we'll keep to the highlights:

-Abby's grown so much! She sings almost endlessly (ABC, I Am a Child of God, primary songs, etc) and is a joy 97.2% of the time (beating the nat'l average by 34%!). Her vocabulary has grown to include such words and sentences as airplane, bird, “I’m sorry”, "I love you", and "baby brother".
-Yep! Amber's now almost 9 months pregnant with a baby boy! She's enjoyed morning sickness, backaches, frequent pitstops and organ displacement this year. But her love for our child glows through. She's also made huge progress in scrapbooking and home decorating, as well as emergency preparedness and gardening!
-Because Dave built a raised garden! And a wall, and irrigation, and put in a lawn! Yes, the back yard is shaping up despite the time he's put into his new calling as a Counselor in the Bishopric. Dave's also been gripped by a desire to author a webcomic ("Animal Ward" coming soon!) as well as dedicate time to scouting and to a new position at work.

Yes, this year has been good. The Lord has blessed us greatly, and we thank Him for his Son and His incredible plan that brings so much peace and joy in our lives! We pray the same for you!
God bless you all!
Amber, Dave & Abigail
